Extremely useful, some points for improvement
By: CMAP Nerd on 9 June 2017On the whole, fairly satisfied with this product. Holds an edited CMAP card nicely in the smaller fold-out window, and having sketch maps and key actions-on is incredibly useful for those of us who live by them. As a tool that comes into its own post step-off, and especially post-H hour, I was disappointed that it doesn't seem overly thought out when it comes to writing on the clear surface with the work issued map markers. I wrote a number of misc. details like bearings, key timings, and changes to situation/groupings and tasks on it post-H during a field exercise, only to find out that not even moments after writing on it, that it was almost impossible to clean map marker off it! This is a pretty intuitive use of the tool, and I highly recommend that some work be done in future to make it more compatible with the use of map marker. Such an improvement would elevate this from being a good piece of kit, to an excellent piece of kit, and would make it a godsend for junior commanders the world over.
