Straight Mat Description

The SORD Straight Mat is a basic quad-folding mat, suitable as a comfortable shooting platform, a quick seat for a short stop, or double as a sleeping mat.

Durable: Constructed of 1000 Denier Cordura outer with a robust, closed-cell foam inner.

Quickly Stowed: As it is designed to fold away in a few seconds, there is no need to roll it up as with other mats.

Loop Ends: Hook Loops on each mat section for easy carry uses and attachments.

Wimp Mat

I was looking for a mat to replace my exploded self-inflating issued mat and had seen folded ones on old Alice pack configurations. So with the issue of the new SCE pack for going on TS19, I bought this to go in the plastic frame like an Alice pack. It folds small enough to fit in the frame and holds itself pretty much in place but I used one of the multitude of superfluous small straps on the pack to retain it as well. It required a small amount of adjustment of the lumber but it wasn’t against my back so air flow was there. The easy accessible location meant that it could be pulled out and used quickly as a temporary rest or seat as per the description and it gave peace of mind that my TAS bivvy wouldn’t be pierced when I rolled around at night by placing it under the bivvy. And yes, I am a wimp because I had a Static X Recon inside the Bivvy as well.
