The SORD Torrid Boonie hat is designed to thrive in the Torrid zone*, designed to be a quick drying, compact, comfortable, breathable and adjustable jungle hat that provides the next level of comfort while working in already challenging environments.

* The hot central belt of the earth bounded by the tropics of Cancer and Capricorn. Land covered with dense vegetation dominated by overgrown and/or tangled vegetation at ground level resulting in a lack of sunlight and hindering movement.*

Features:

Omni Mesh Ring: Mesh ring segment follows the entire circumference for enhanced heat management by way of extreme ventilation.

Water Repellent: The water repellent fabric assists in shedding water as opposed to your current filthy cotton bush hat.

Construction: Light weight Multicam 70 Denier DWR Ripstop Nylon

Barrel Lock Tensioner: Features a barrel lock tensioner to easily slide up and down to adjust length.

"Jute" Paracord (gutted) Loops: for addition of local vegetation.

Velcro Patch: Loop Velcro placed on top of the Temperate Boonie for IR IFF patch

Warp Knit: (Similar to pile Velcro but nicer) on inner rear of hat for the attachment of neck flap.

Internal Marker Panel: The orange internal IFF marker panel makes marrying up quicker and more convenient

Moisture Protection: Fleece sweat band on the inner front ring for additional comfort and moisture wicking

Removable Strap: Removable gutted Paracord Lanyard / neck strap.

Best hat money can but

I've had my hat for a little over a year and it's been amazing, Was a little bit tight but it stretched over time and now fit's perfect, I use it everyday in the sun on construction sites under my hard hat, keeps sweat out of my face, stops my face getting burnt and is waterproof, yes that's right it's waterproof, atlest the outside is anyays, I've worn it in some heavy rain and my head stayed 80% dry apart from water getting in through the mesh, I love the hat and will 100% buy another one if this hat ever dies, definitely recommended

Great fit

I started wearing this for just walking from the train station and bush walking it works fantastic it fits so well and keeps my head cool during the summer for bush walking and anything else really. I say it looks great with some AMCU and blends in with pretty much any environment.

Best hat

I've had a few Bush hats of different brands. A kitbag one, 3 platatac ones, a crye precision one, I have the good issued one cut down a bit, but this hat is by far the best. Wore it in Tully, best ventilation of any hat ever. Worn it in just about every training area in qld and its just great for the heat! Marker panel inside, adjustable, chin strap...it's just a bloody ripper hat really. Probably my favorite bit of SORD gear.
